For many their first step is to do research on the internet. It is a commonly known fact that people do business with people that they know, like and trust. A blog is a great way for potential clients to get to know you, learn to like you and begin to develop trust in your knowledge and ability to do the job.
Here are 11 ways to build credibility, trust and loyalty with you blog and turn potential customers into customers.
- Post often: You do not have to post daily to your blog, but at least three times a week is a good average for posting to a blog. You can create an editorial calendar to help you keep up with posting topics and regularity.
- Post helpful information: Do not just post specials and information about your services. Post information that readers can use or give them something to think about that they may have never thought of before. Tell them things that they can do that will help them with their business or help solve some of their problems.
- Be yourself: Let your personality shine through. Don’t just talk about your services or business, tell something of yourself. This will help readers feel as if they know you and begin to like and trust you.
- Get interviewed by others: Allow others to interview you and post the interview on your blog and their blog. This will show that you are a trusted and credible person in your industry.
- Keep current on industry news and trends: Relays opinion and information on current trends and news within your industry helps build credibility in the eyes of your readers. This will show them that you keep current on what’s happening in your industry.
- Get people talking: Writing posts that get people talking about and linking to helps build your credibility and trust among readers and helps spread the word about your blog.
- Be everywhere: Provide guest posts on other blogs, leave comments, dig articles, make sure that your business and brand shows up where your readers are.
- Communicate in a variety of ways: Don’t just stop with your blog posts, offer podcasts, tele-seminars, webinars, videos CD’s and transcripts of workshops, speeches, seminars and keynotes on your blog.
- Case Studies: Provide case studies on how your services solved a client’s needs. This helps potential clients learn how you work, see that you understand their needs and show that you are successful at solving their problems.
10. Q & A: Offer the readers the opportunity to send you questions and answer the questions on your blog. If they have the question, then it is likely that some of your other readers have the same question.
11. Portfolio: If you work in an industry where you create pieces that can be viewed in a portfolio, then provide an online portfolio for potential clients to view.
Using any of these 11 tips in a ongoing basis will help you to create credibility, trust and loyalty among potential customers. When the customer is ready to buy, you will have increased that likeliness that they will choose your company.
